About Us

The Why

Being an avid shopper, I was tired of finding the perfect item in a store, only to find out that it was sold out in my size. As a result, I often found that I would have to visit big box stores instead of being able to find an alternative locally. On top of that, I didn't like having to pay a fortune if I wanted something that was cute and featured good quality. Thinking I can't be the only one that this happens to, I figured there has to be a way to create a more affordable and accessible option for the everyday woman. 

Fast forward to the summer before my last year of university, and I began pondering what I wanted to do after graduation. In my head, I knew I always wanted to follow my dreams of pursuing a career within the fashion industry. So this thought of helping women by providing a new retail experience both excited and intimidated me. I knew it was something I wanted to do, but the thought of bringing this dream to a reality was daunting. Despite all of it, I just went for it.

The inspiration

Now, everyone knows a girls' first best friend is often her mother, and for myself this couldn't be more true. Over the years, it was from all this time I spent with my mom (aka bestie), that I was grateful enough to learn several valuable lessons from her. However, it wasn't until recently when I came to the realization that I want to try and live as she did: kind, giving, brave, spirited, and above all, well-respected.  

Not only do I consider myself influenced by my mom, I have also been greatly impacted by two other gals who happen to be my nieces. They are special to me for many reasons and for ways in which they do not know, but that's a story for another time. To sum it up, I have been in the presence of some pretty amazing girls/women and consider myself pretty darn lucky. 

The name

I wanted the name of my store to have meaning personally, while also striking a chord with others. That's when I realized my passion to create this business has been influenced by the people in my life that are important to me. I started making a list of names and scrambling them together in every possible combination but nothing made sense.

After a while, I narrowed it down to two names: my nieces Halle and Willow. After putting Hal + low together, I soon realized that Hallow is a real word. Hoping to pay tribute to my late mom through my business in some form, I used this as my opportunity. I looked at definitions of Hallow and immediately chose the meaning: “to respect greatly”. As that is exactly how I feel whenever I think of the person my mom was. And there have been countless others that have described this same feeling to me as well.

For these reasons, our goal was to create a brand that is an ode to the brave, strong, and yet pretty nature that encapsulates these women. While at the same time, being representative of the special women in everyone's lives. And thus, Hallow Clothing Co. was born.

We serve to provide customers with a fresh, young, and feminine option for everyday clothing and accessories. Being able to work with individuals that we know by name, and knowing where our product comes from is important to us, so we don't settle for anything less. Beyond providing our customers with quality and fashion-forward options to turn to for their wardrobe, we serve to deliver in all that we do. We want to make women feel good about what they are buying and feel good in what they are buying.
